Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Soul prospers -> we prosper and be in healthÂ

How does our “soul” prosper?

Woo. A comment? Heh, I’ll have to dig up the verses but basically the Word is our “meat” to the soul. When we read the Word and apply it in our lives, our soul prospers.

I think our soul prospers when our Spitual Health is as important as our Physical Health, which would causes us to be more in tune with the Holy Spirit and His leading! I think our soul prospers when we connect or reconnect someone with Christ. I think our soul prospers when we have the “word” that someone needs and we give to them and their lives are never the same to the Glory of God. Our soul prospers as we learn to yeild more to the Spirit than the Flesh by the help of the Lord!

According to a New Testament Greek Lexicon, the word health in the passage means
1. to be sound, to be well, to be in good health
2. metaph.
1. of Christians whose opinions are free from any mixture of error
2. of one who keeps the graces and is strong
Found 12 times in the KJV. sound 6, be sound 1, be whole 1, whole 1, wholesome 1, be in health 1, safe and sound 1.
My thoughts are biased towards the word ‘health’ not referring to the physical state. This is because of the possibility of it referring
as being “true in doctrine”, vs 1-4 all seem to be addressing the issue of truth and there is another word used for health(physical) in Acts
27:34. I think our soul prospers when we feed ‘it’ pure things, being free from impurities, filled with the Word and even the mind of Christ.
This is essentially the last thing Dwayne said.
Aside: Be careful not to accept psychological answers to this question that are not biblically based.
